Temple du ciel

Chloé Beaulac

This artist is captivated by the rituals that define faith and the desire to get closer to the concept of divinity and the beyond, which has prompted her to visit many spiritual sites in Quebec.

This work is part of the Lieu saint (Sacred Place) visual essay, which explores symbols of the imagination in a depiction of temples, churches, funeral rites, spiritual journeys, the world beyond, pilgrimages and places of peace. The works illustrate human rituals and the desire to get closer to a restful state of well-being through devotion and personal beliefs, via a deconstruction and reconstruction of traditional notions of places of worship.
