Through the medium of sculpture, the artist delights in exploring her relationship with her environment, drawing inspiration from the day-to-day. She seeks to create a timeless rendering of the beauty of ephemeral moments, capturing a glimpse of the soul of her models in each of her pieces, so that each one conveys an emotion understood through the heart.
Without avoiding the less harmonious realities of life, the artist explores the various flaws that can dwell within a person. This reflection is expressed figuratively through a form in which unexpected fault lines appear.
Baking and molding are ideal techniques for working bronze, resin and glass each in turn, the materials from which emerges each fragment of her portrait of the human being.
For Suzan, the three-dimensional character of clay, the material she uses to create art that is visible even in the dark, confers a multi-sensorial quality on the piece.
