Geneviève Després
Illustrator and painter
Geneviève spent three years living in France and Italy. Since returning to Quebec in 2007, she has illustrated over 30 books that have been translated into more than a dozen languages.
She has received many illustration awards and been a finalist in numerous competitions, including the Prix des Libraires du Québec, the ANEL-AQPF and the Prix Québec/Wallonie-Bruxelles de littérature jeunesse. More recently, she was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Awards and the Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Canadian Picture Book Award (IBBY).
