Juan Alfredo Vega

Born in Santiago, Chile, in 1963, Juan Alfredo Vega arrived in Canada at the age of 18. As a young child, he loved to draw and look at the images in the paintings of the great masters. He completed his architectural studies at the Université de Montréal and now works as an architect.

During his university studies, he perfected his drawing, watercolor and colored pencil skills, and since December 2023, he has been painting in acrylics and oils, regularly producing paintings in an impressionist-realist style.

The artist enjoys painting urban landscapes, particularly the streets and parks of Saint-Lambert. He soon plans to move into portraiture. Through his work, he seeks to highlight the harmony of color, the beauty of composition and light. He wants his paintings to be accessible, easy to understand, and to invite the viewer on a journey. What he enjoys most of all is learning something new with each creation, and discovering people’s reactions to his work.

In 2025, he presented two works at Calgary’s “The Great Treasures of Gold Art Exhibition”.
