This project aims to continue the City\u2019s initiatives to promote local artists and their work. The artist was selected following a competition launched within the Saint-Lambert community to find a local photographer. The chosen artist, Jake Levin, presents his exhibition on birds. It features seven photographs, along with an interpretive panel that allows visitors to better understand the artist\u2019s creative approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This series of images represents the essence of his vision and photographic strategy: capturing images of wild birds in their natural habitat, free from visual distractions. For Jake, birds are living works of art that inhabit every corner of our world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ville de Saint-Lambert is proud to add this project to its cultural initiatives. The project falls under the cultural development agreement between the City and the Minist\u00e8re de la Culture et des Communications du Qu\u00e9bec (MCCQ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jake Levin is an artist specializing in wild bird photography. He has been practicing this art for over twenty years, but it was in 2014, after moving to Qu\u00e9bec to pursue his studies, that he chose to fully dedicate himself to this discipline. Born in Washington, D.C., United States, he grew up with a strong passion for languages and photography. When he\u2019s not out in nature with his camera, he\u2019s in the classroom teaching language and literature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In recent years, he has participated in several photography exhibitions. He won a bronze medal in the \u201cBest Portrait\u201d category of the international Bird Photographer of the Year<\/em> competition in 2023. His image \u201cLanding Break,\u201d taken in Perc\u00e9, was featured in May 2025 at the \u201cNature\u201d exhibition at the Glasgow Gallery of Photography in Scotland. He also received an honorable mention in the Grand Prix de la Photo Qu\u00e9becOiseaux<\/em> competition in 2024.
