V"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Fran\u00e7oise Sullivan was born in Montreal, where she initially studied at the \u00c9cole des beaux-arts. While this unique and multifaceted artist was first recognized as a dancer and choreographer, it has been her work as a visual artist that has truly stood out over the course of her long career. She was a founding member of the Automatiste movement and one of the signatories of the Refus global.<\/p>\n\n<p>Her works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions, including at the Mus\u00e9e national des beaux-arts du Qu\u00e9bec (1993) and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (2003).<\/p>\n\n<p>She received the Paul-\u00c9mile Borduas Award in 1987 and holds honorary degrees from UQAM and Toronto\u2019s York University. A teacher at Concordia University since 1977, Fran\u00e7oise Sullivan is also a sought-after jury member and lecturer, and she sits on the board of the Conseil des arts de Montr\u00e9al.
