It is part of the series entitled \u201cLe Nord et Le Blanc,\u201d still life representations of northern animals. This series was strongly influenced by a professional journey the artist made to northern Quebec in 2006.<\/p>\n\n<p>Other themes that inform Yannick De Serre\u2019s artistic aesthetic are the forces of nature, white as far as the eye can see, the predominance of the starry sky, solitude, the instinct for survival, fragility and destruction.
