Chosen by the selection committee as the Professional Artist from Saint-Lambert, Carole Simard-Laflamme believes that any vision of the world involves analogue perception. Like the works she creates, all aspects of humanity and the universe are, for her, inextricably interwoven and enlaced.
Her research on textile techniques has led her to consider, among other things, the relationship between humans and their environment, but also to decompartmentalize disciplines. Her works show the power of textiles’ presence in contemporary art as an element of belonging, pride and commitment.
