Rome, la villa Doria Pamphilj

Pierre Blache

This image was captured on the second day of Pierre Blache’s residency at the Québec Studio in Rome. It was to the shade of this pine forest that he would escape the hectic bustle of the city during his six-month sojourn in Rome.

Pierre Blache trained in visual arts at the Collège de Matane and at Concordia University. In tandem with his artistic practice, he has long plied his trade in the Montreal photographic community. Since the last ten years or so, he has travelled the world’s major cities, taking photographs and soaking up different cultures and energies.

As well as solo exhibitions in Canada, he has participated in numerous collective exhibitions here, in Europe and in Latin America. His most recent exhibitions are testimony to his interest in video, sound and still images.

The artist wishes to thank the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec for its financial support.
