Commemorative plaque – Induction into the Canadian Railway Hall of Fame

Plaque offered by CN highlighting the City of Saint-Lambert’s contribution to the evolution of the rail sector

Located in the Parc de la Gare, this commemorative plaque was erected in 2016 to highlight the Ville de Saint-Lambert’s induction into the Canadian Railway Hall of Fame. Our city has made major contributions to the development of the railway industry. In fact, it was born thanks to the presence of the railway and grew up around it. Today, it continues to develop, while proudly taking the railway’s presence into account.

The Railway Association of Canada Hall of Fame honours the people, technologies and municipalities that have advanced Canada’s railway industry. The Ville de Saint-Lambert was inducted into the “Communities” subcategory, which honours communities regarded as having historical significance for Canada’s railway system. CN’s donation of the monument was accompanied by the planting of a red oak, which CN also offered the City to mark the occasion. This commemorative plaque was unveiled on August 27, 2016 by then-Mayor Alain Dépatie in the presence of Sean Finn, Executive Vice-President Corporate Services at CN and a former mayor of Saint-Lambert (2005-2009).
