Magali Thibault Gobeil

A graduate of the École de joaillerie de Montréal in 2013, Magali Thibault Gobeil pursues a career in which exploration and exuberance of form characterize her practice. Soon after graduating, her work won recognition and rewards in both Canada and abroad. She was a finalist at the Niche Student Awards (United States) in 2013 and the Arts and Craft Awards (Croatia) in 2014. More recently, she was awarded the prestigious Prix François-Houdé (2017) by the City of Montreal in collaboration with the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec.

Ms. Thibault Gobeil’s artistic process is defined by excess, joy and freedom. A tireless creator, her round and sinuous pieces are crafted in bright colours and exuberant styles. Her works are tactile and have a distinct materiality about them. Whether bright, soft or rigid, they are born of instinct and evoke candies and splashes.
